What To Wear
To start with just wear loose-fitting clothes such as jogging bottoms, tee-shirt/sweat shirt, track suit, etc. As long as you are comfortable and able to move freely.
All jewellery, especially rings should be removed before training to prevent injury to yourself or others. If you can’t remove a ring, then please cover it over with a plaster. We usually train barefoot unless there is a good reason not (such as blister, verruca etc).
You have 2 free classes to decide if it’s what you are looking for. If you decide that you want to continue then you should consider getting a Karate uniform (known as a “Gi”). You don’t have to do so straight away. However, you will be expected to have a Gi before you can take a grading.
Karate suits are available from most sports shops (though sometimes you have to order). You can usually get one from Norton Sports & Camping in Midsomer Norton High Street. Alternatively you can order on-line from Blitz Sport, who provide good quality reasonably priced uniforms or eBay. They usually come with a white belt.
We don’t go in for designer or proprietary uniforms as we prefer to adhere to the traditional ways and keep down unnecessary costs for you.
