Holistic Karate comprises traditional training developing mind, body and spirit; whilst embracing modern reality based training methods. This empowers students with an effective and relevant self protection system that actually works. But it also develops mindfulness, self confidence, health & fitness, self esteem, focus, concentration, co-ordination, respect and more.
It is functional rather than flashy. Karate teaches principles of movement (body mechanics) and application of power which can be applied in numerous ways. This is better than having to learn many different techniques to cover every possible self defence situation. This study develops self awareness, which is why it is sometimes likened to moving meditation!
Holistic Karate is a very friendly and supportive environment. It is a very methodical “building block” approach to martial arts, teaching basic skills first then gradually and steadily building, refining and adding to those skills. Training is tailored to the individuals needs, capabilities and limitations. Not everybody can move the same way!
We have separate classes for adult/teens and for children from 7 to 12 years old in Midsomer Norton and Westfield.
