Charlie Wildish, 4th Dan
Charlie has over 30 years experience in the martial arts, his main style being Shotokan Karate. He has also trained in other martial arts including Wing Chun Kung Fu and Tai Chi; giving him a deeper understanding of martial arts.
He has further supplemented his Karate with “reality based martial arts” with some of the best teachers in the world, FAST Defence (Fear, Adrenalin & Stress Training) and others.
Charlie firmly believes that Karate is a very powerful tool for self-development. Although Karate is a system of self protection second to none, regular training instils a sense of confidence and creates a more peaceful state of mind.
Charlie has had articles published in:
– Shotokan Karate Magazine
– Traditional Karate Magazine
– Has a world-wide following in his own martial arts blog www.BunkaiJutsu.com
– Has produced his own DVD’s which sell around the world
Mike has a wealth of knowledge and experience well beyond his grade of 1st Dan.
He has trained with many of the UK’s top Karate instructors and is a bit of a traditionalist, which is great as it keeps us honest to our roots. That said, he keeps an open mind to new developments.
He trained alongside Charlie years ago at the Frome Karate Club (now closed), and joined Charlie as co-instructor when Charlie opened Holistic Karate.
Nick Pratt, 1st Dan
Nick has trained Karate on and off for many years. He achieved purple belt then stopped for a number of years due to commitments. When he was ready to restart training again, he tried several local schools before coming to Holistic Karate. He was drawn to the practical approach and more relaxed fluid technique.
He has enjoys the basics and likes getting down into the fine detail. Nick is a good combination of “old school” intensity, blended with the more progressive and effective whip like technique.
